Django ifequal is broken for negative numbers

If you are using django version 0.95 like I am, you may have noticed the following code does not work. {% ifequal some_negative_variable -1 %} it is negative {% else %} it is not negative {% endifequal %} Here is the code for my custom templatetag ifneg which I wrote to test just for negative numbers, since that is all I needed to do.
